"You get about 20 disposable diapers (or training pants) sent to you FREE in the mail, and then they send you a check for $10 after you complete a quick phone survey.

The name of the company is Arquest, and they are looking for moms of children still wearing diapers. (Sometimes they have trials with disposable training pants/pull ups as well.) If you have a child in diapers/pull ups and want to leave your name to be contacted when they have more openings, call:

• BOYS: 1-888-342-7372 ext. 634
  

You can also press 9 for "diaper study" when you call the above number. It is a recorded message.

You will need to leave your name, your phone number, your child's gender and diaper size. They will call you when they have an opening. (Be patient, it can take 4 - 8 weeks to be called the first time! But sometimes they will call you right back, the same day!)"

Nashville Parent Magazine

I LOVE this free publication, which is available at grocery stores, libraries and community centers throughout Middle Tennessee. This is a terrific source for free family activities, not only in the Nashville area but in surrounding counties and well. The May 2009 issue lists numerous Summer Camps as well as a small section for Vacation Bible Schools. In addition to the magazine, there is also a website for you to enjoy.

Home Depot Free Workshops For Kids

This looks like fun -- Can't believe I've yet to take the kids to one of these events. Home Depot offers a variety of kid workshops on the first Saturday of each month. Click on the above image for details on the upcoming projects and for registration info.

In addition to the cute craft, the each child will receive a free orange apron just like the Home Depot associates wear and an achievement pin. Too cute!

Regal Cinema Free Family Film Festival - Summer 2009

REG Free Family Film Festival Beginning June 2009! When school’s out, kids around the country visit selected Regal theatres for the Free Family Film Festival. It’s a fun-filled nine weeks of movies for kids and parents. Since 1991, Regal has provided this service to the community, and best of all it’s FREE!

Selected G & PG movies start at 10AM each Tuesday and Wednesday during the festival. First-come, first-served seating is limited to theatre capacity. The Free Family Film Festival is safe, lots of fun and a great way for kids to spend a weekday morning in the summer.

Tickets for our 2009 Free Family Film Festival are exclusively available at select theatres’ box office on the day of the show. You can also select a state here to see participating theatres in your area!

Best Kept Secret In Middle Tennessee

With four kids, I could spend a fortune in extra-curricular activities. Fortunately, Metro Parks and Recreation offers many free and/or cheap classes at many community center locations throughout Nashville. The four main areas of interest are visual arts, dance, music and theater. This link will take you to the current schedule (only a few weeks left for these classes.)

However, the word is that the new schedule should be posted some time in April and I believe that classes begin in Late May/Early June. Keep checking.

For anyone outside of the Middle Tennessee area, take a look at your local "dot-gov" page to see if you have a similar program.
